Due to our continued success as one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles we have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance and Data Manager


Scania is part of the global VW Group of companies.  This role is based at Scania head office in Milton Keynes and is a contract role for approximately 4 months.  For the right candidate we can be flexible on whether it is a full time or part time role and as to working hours.  Reporting into the Company Solicitor, this person will assist with preparing Scania for GDPR compliance (and, if time allows, review our other policies).  A GDPR audit has already been completed and we are now looking to implement the actions picked up in the audit.  This will include liaising with the relevant departments and developing and implementing the required policies and procedures, reviewing and amending existing documentation including agreements, policies, privacy notices, producing marketing scripts, fair processing notices etc.  And generally providing advice and guidance around data protection.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

  • Drafting policies and procedures and reviewing existing policies to bring them in line with GDPR
  • Amending and negotiating agreements and other documents in line with GDPR and producing new agreements
  • Advising as to compliance with GDPR across the business
  • General compliance advice

Candidate Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Solicitor or Barrister

  • Previous experience in data protection and compliance
  • Contract drafting experience (although not essential)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of GDPR and data protection generally
  • Proficient typing and word processing skills
  • Self starter
  • Keen attention to detail
  • A practical approach
