Legal Adviser

Summary

The Legal Adviser will support the Head of Compliance, Legal and Risk in providing legal advice to the company, including the head office and the depots. Reporting to the Head of Compliance Legal and Risk, the Legal Adviser will provide legal advice on all areas relevant to the business.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

  • General advice on disputes/litigation
  • Responses to requests for information
  • Review of all non standard contract amendments
  • Contract drafting and advice on clause wording
  • GDPR advice and drafting
  • Policy and process drafting
  • Compliance advice
  • Advice on protection of intellectual property
  • Watching brief on new legislation and regulation on the horizon
  • Legal research

Candidate Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Preferable 1 year plus qualified solicitor or barrister with commercial law experience.  Either from Private Practice or In-House. 

An experienced NQ or para legal with several years hands on experience of working in a legal department exhibiting key legal skills such as contract drafting, litigation case management or property conveyancing would be considered. Experience of dealing with leasing/contract hire business would be attractive.

Proficient typing skills and Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Excel skills
