HGV Mobile Repair Technician

Salary – £20,800 per annum + Bonus + Benefits

Working Hours – Monday to Friday 0600-14:30 13:30-22:00 and Saturday 0600-16:00, alternate Sunday 0600 -14:00 

Due to our continued success as one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles we have an exciting opportunity for Mobile Repair Technician.

Based at our Boston Branch you will be responsible for maintaining trailers and commercial vehicles to VOSA standards at customer’s sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on trailers and trucks to VOSA standard and support mobile cover at customer premises
  • Providing technical support
  • Complete vehicle campaigns
  • Diagnose and rectify all types of faults on vehicles at roadside
  • Attend disabled vehicles at the roadside or at customer’s premises
  • Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
  • Ensure appropriate clocking is made, all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
  • Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses
  • Conform to all customer site requirements and regulations

Key requirements for the role:

  • Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles
  • Experience in commercial workshop
  • Ability to build good relationships both internally and externally
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks and willing to learn
  • Awareness and understanding of Health & Safety requirements
  • Class 1 LGV licence (desirable but not essential)
