Service Manager

Salary – £33,000 to £35,000 per annum + Bonus + Benefits

Working hours – Monday to Friday 08:30 to 18:00 + Every other Saturday 08:00 to 13:00

Due to our continued success as one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles we have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager.

Based at our SHEFFIELD Branch you will be reporting directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for the daily operation of the service department. They will need to fully utilise all available resource to ensure that daily targets are achieved to produce maximum productivity within the constraints of the budget whilst ensuring a high level of customer and staff satisfaction is returned

Responsibilities:

  • To achieve and meet daily targets
  • To ensure the continual growth of the service department
  • To ensure the service department meets and achieves the regional benchmark quality criteria
  • To ensure the business structure meets the customer demand
  • To ensure the WIP is kept to a minimum
  • To ensure warranty/ SVM claims dealt with and kept to a minimum
  • Together with the parts manager ensure Sheffield Aftersales maintains a high customer service level 
  • To implement new or review current key procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the service department
  • To review all training requirements and prepare a plan to meet future demands
  • To review all sickness and holiday requirements
  • To manage the up-keep of the workshop / yard to DOS Standards
  • Accountability for Health and Safety within the service department
  • To ensure customer queries dealt with professionally and within a respectable time (24hrs)

Key requirements for the role:

  • Ability to work on own initiative and to strict deadlines
  • Ability to organise own workload and that of the team 
  • Excellent customer care and communication skills
  • Proven administrative skills
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Capability of working within a team environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Kerridge
  • General commercial business experience
  • Scania product knowledge (preferably to MT10 level but not essential).
  • C&E driving license
