Digital Learning & Content Developer – People Development

Location: Loughborough

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 0900-1700

Salary: £35,000 – £42,000 + Bonus + excellent benefit package


We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Learning & Content Developer to join Scania. You will have proven expertise in this area with the experience, skills, training, and competence to hit the ground running and create next level immersive learning content. This new and exciting role will be supporting the People Development teams cross-functionally in the areas of Health & Safety, Technical, Leadership, Commercial and Apprentice training. This is a hands-on role aiding the design, creation, and development of industry leading training content, learning solutions and technical support workflows. Furthermore, to bring performance improvements and efficiency enhancements for our colleagues.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

• Supporting and playing a hands-on role as a member of the existing, experienced People Development team to aid the production of industry leading digital content and learning solutions.

• Dedicated to building high-end digital learning experiences, with a passion for design, creation, and learning.

• Ability to design and develop engaging, content rich learning solutions that colleagues interact with as part of their ongoing learning journey to support learning activities for virtual classrooms, in person training, e-Learning, video content, 3D, virtual and/or augmented reality.

• Produce highly immersive, interactive, and engaging PowerPoint presentations including the creation of speaker notes, infographics, diagrams, drawings, 3D content and other media intended for training and assessment.

• Supporting a variety of learning topics including Safety, Health & Environment, Technical, Commercial, Sales and Services.

• Ability to interpret business needs effectively, to understand and develop learning briefs to scope out the end user learning journeys, storyboarding, scripts, and detailed running order creation, in collaboration with Learning & Development, Sales and Services stakeholders.

• Design and develop creative and engaging new digital learning content solutions on a range of topics that’s in keeping with the Scania premium brand image and of the highest quality.

• Prepare, package, and upload digital content into learning platforms, including Learning Management and Social Learning platforms.

• Produce learning, development, support, and technical documentation including bulletins, knowledge articles, procedures, and tool sheets in conjunction with the Method Engineer, Technical Engineers, and Training instructors.

• Working closely with Subject Matter experts.

• Effectively manage multiple projects and initiatives from analysis, design, creation, development, delivery through to evaluation.

• Continued research of emerging trends, tools, software, and best practice in relation to Digital Learning and content production.

• Continuous development of job critical skills.

Candidate Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Able to take input from a range of sources, applying creative techniques to create and/or curate clear and compelling materials for a wide range of learning delivery mechanisms and audiences.

• Demonstrable experience of developing and editing learning resources (checklists, guides, decision trees, FAQs, quick start guides, “how to”, toolkits etc.) that effectively support learning.

• Brilliant technical capability with e-Learning authoring software e.g., Articulate.

• Proven experience of designing and developing engaging e-Learning materials and delivering via a Learning Management System.

• Strong graphic design skills.

• Previous Learning Management System experience (Cornerstone OnDemand) is advantageous.

• Experience with CAD software, rendering and packaging (SolidWorks) is advantageous.

• Able to create, edit and deliver learning media in a variety of digital forms to suit the subject and learning delivery.

• Interested in exploring the application of AR/VR technologies and gamification in the areas of learning and support.

• Maintain a structured, logical approach to their work along with an element of flexibility where needed. 

• Demonstrate a passion for a job well done (right first time, on time) with exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbally.
